AMEX Transfer bonuses to the likes of British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and JetBlue are not uncommon, and now we're seeing a range of transfer bonuses on offer to the Hilton Honors loyalty program.
While we haven't really seen very many AMEX offers for airlines this year there certainly hasn't been a shortage of offers to choose from if you've been looking to book a few hotel stays. With a number of older hotel offers still very much alive (check here, here and here), AMEX has now added a further three offers that may be of use.
statement credit when the way they were processed by AA/Amex was changed. Last month there was a suggestion that this situation had been reversed but that turned out to be a glitch and, as far as I know, American Airlines gift cards continue not to trigger the Amex statement credits. Now we may be facing a similar issue with Delta and Southwest gift card purchases.
American Express has been offering a 30% bonus on transfers between Membership Rewards and the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club for a little under 2 months but the deal is set to expire tonight - if you need to top up your Flying Club account or want to book a great premium cabin ANA award now may be a good time to transfer some points.
When American Express was scrambling around to try to find some benefits to add to its Platinum Card in an attempt to justify the $550 annual fee it chose to add, amongst other things, $100 of statement credits for purchases made at Saks 5th Avenue.
One creative and effective way of using American Express airline credits has long been to buy gift cards from American Airlines, Delta and Southwest (and then use those for airfare purchases) but, sometime around the beginning of February, something went wrong.
There have been a few worthwhile Amex offers doing the rounds of late with Hilton featuring heavily in the US, a rare offer on Hilton properties in Europe, a fantastic deal for anyone looking to buy some Rimowa luggage and, just recently, deals for fans of Marriott and MGM Resorts. All these deals have had their own posts here on Traveling for Miles but there are three other deals that I haven't yet written about and I'd like to put that right here and now.
American Express has targeted a selection of its cardholders for a rebate which can be used at most Marriott brands in the US (and US territories) and there are two further Amex offers which, as far as I can tell, should stack together to offer users 16,000 Membership Rewards Points for a booking in Las Vegas.
American Express is currently on a bit of a roll with multiple transfer bonuses to Membership Rewards partners running right now. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, JetBlue True Blue and Qantas all currently have Amex transfer bonuses available and now, if you're fortunate, you can add British Airways to that list.
Out of all the hotel chains Hilton definitely features the most when it comes to the Amex offers I see in my accounts and there have been a number of offers running since the beginning of March. Now there's a new rebate appearing in targeted Amex accounts which offers up to 20% back on bookings made at Hilton properties in Europe.
