American Airlines and JetBlue have today announced that they're moving forward with their previously announced agreement by codesharing on 80 flights out of New York and Boston. More importantly for American Airlines loyalists, we've also been told that the new tie-up with JetBlue will see American launch 12 new domestic routes and 6 new international routes out of New York and Boston this year.

For the past two days, JetBlue has been running a very nice sale across most of the routes that it operates but today is the last day to lock-in the savings that the airline is offering. It doesn't look like there are any major discounts available on Mint Business Class bookings but there are some very promising-looking discounts in Economy Class.

With multiple new flights to cities across the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean, this is the airline's attempt at shoring up its finances while, business travel continues to show little sign of recovery.

American Airlines and JetBlue have today announced that they are entering into a strategic partnership that will see American Airlines launch new international services out of New York JFK, JetBlue expanding at all three New York airports, and members of both airlines' loyalty programs enjoying reciprocal elite benefits.

JetBlue has offered a nice distraction from the current travel crisis to announce a series of new routes out of nine East Coast/Florida airports and the introduction of its acclaimed Mint Business Class cabin to two new transcontinental routes out of New York Newark airport. Additionally, the airline also announced that nine temporarily closed cities and several summer seasonal destinations will reopen in early July.

JetBlue and Norwegian have just announced that they have signed a Letter of Intent for an interline agreement which will "allow customers to combine low fares in a convenient single booking for connecting flights between the Americas and Europe".

JetBlue has confirmed what a lot of people have suspected for some time and that's that it finally plans to take on the large transatlantic carriers by starting up service between the US and London.
