Cash Back Bonanza! Get 10% Back With Marriott, Choice & IHG

We’ve been seeing noticeably more great cash back deals on hotel bookings of late (I have no idea why but I’m not about to complain!) and today we have three more deals that should give you an opportunity to make some significant savings on bookings with Marriott, Choice Hotels and IHG.

Get 10% Cash Back On Select Marriott Bookings

Ebates has brought back its 10% cash back deal for Marriott bookings but you should be a little careful before diving in as, just like last time, it doesn’t look like all brands/properties are participating.

The strange thing here is that the exclusions appear to differ depending on which of the 10% cash back links you select…..for example:

Here are the exclusions for the JW Marriott cash back link:

Excluded properties:

• The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
• Riyadh Marriott
• Aspen Wye River Conference Center (Maryland)
• The Marriott Ranch Bed and Breakfast (Virginia)

• AC Hotel Carlton Madrid
• AC Hotel Som
• AC Hotel Nuevo Portil Golf.

And here are the exclusions for the Marriott Bonvoy link:

• Ritz-Carlton Destination Club
• Design Hotels
• Bulgari
• W Hotels

Excluded properties:

• Atlantis, Autograph Collection
• Bulgari Hotel, London
• Joshua G.E. Medical Corp. Conference Center
• Jesse Jones Rotary Conference Center, Marriott Ranch
• Protea Hotel Amani Beach
• Protea Hotel Mbweni Ruins
• The Ritz-Carlton London
• U.S. Postal Service Conference Center
• Four Points by Sheraton Havana
• The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, Autograph Collection.

I really have no idea what to make of this (will you get cash back for W Hotel stays is you click through the JW link?) so you’ll have to make your own mind up as to how to interpret this information.

It seems odd that there isn’t one set of exclusions which apply to all Marriott bookings through eBates so, if I was looking to book, I’d assume a worst case scenario and assume that all the exclusions apply to all the links…..but you may be more adventurous 🙂

Note: Ebates hasn’t posted an expiry date for this deal but its safe to assume that it won’t be around for long.

Get 10% Cash Back On Choice Hotel Bookings

As well as offering a great deal on Marriott bookings Ebates is also currently offering 10% cash back for bookings with Choice Hotels.

Unlike the Marriott cash back deal the Choice hotels exclusions are remarkably simple:

Cash Back is not available on bookings that are made using the following rate plans:

• Employee
• Friends and family
• VIP
• Preferred Corporate
• CP Reward Night rates

Cash back will also not be paid on the purchase or redemption of gift cards.

I’ve had a look through eBates and I can’t see any Choice brands which are excluded from this deal (Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Cambria Suites etc… are all there and included) but if anyone spots an exclusion please let me know in the comment s and I’ll update this post.

Note: Just as with the Marriott cash back offer Ebates hasn’t posted an expiry date for its Choice Hotels deal but its safe to assume that it won’t be around for long.

Get 10% Cash Back On Select IHG Bookings

A cash back site which doesn’t get mentioned very often, Mr Rebates, is currently running a St Patrick’s day sale in which it’s offering some very nice cash back deals….one of which is for stays made with IHG.

The interesting thing here is that, just like with the Marriott cash back from Ebates, there’s a little ambiguity here.

The Mr Rebates site only lists the IHG brands you see in the image above so if you search for Kimpton (for example) you get no results returned…but the exclusions for the ‘IHG’ cash back link don’t mention any brand exclusions:

“Cash Back reported shortly after completion of travel. Usage of membership discount rates such as AAA/CAA will void cash back rebate. Cash back is only available for commissionable IHG rates. Specialty negotiated rates such as IHG friends & family are not eligible for cash back. Rooms booked and paid for by IHG reward Club Points are not eligible for cash back incentives.”

Make of that what you will but, as I said earlier in this post, I’d assume the worst and therefore not expect cash back to track on stays with IHG brands not listed above.

The Mr Rebates St Patrick’s day sale is running through 17 March 2019 so it may be that this deal will hang around until then….but I wouldn’t take the risk unless you have to – I’d book sooner rather than later in case this deal gets pulled.
