a plane flying in the sky

As soon as the Qantas 787-9 Dreamliner was scheduled to fly its first routes I started searching for award availability. This is how I booked the Business Class cabin for just 9,000 Avios and how I got a small surprise when I discovered one of Qantas’ latest policy changes.

Qatar Airways Launches “Global Travel Boutique” Promotion

Qatar Airways has launched its latest global promotion which its calling “Global Travel Boutique”. The headline discounts (which I’ll discuss in the post) sound pretty impressive but, by Qatar Airways standards, this has to go down as being a pretty average promotion – so don’t get your hopes up if you’re hoping for a mega-bargain – but one or two fares may be interesting.

Buy Hilton Points At Half Price Through 5 October 2017

Buy Hilton Honors Points

Hilton has launched its latest points promotion in which it’s offering a flat 50% off the regular price of points. The promotion doesn’t appear to be targeted (a sure sign of targeting is when I only get a 40% offer and that hasn’t happened this time!) and the offer runs through to 5 October 2017.

You Can Now Buy Avios With A Bonus Of Up To 50%

British Airways has launched its latest points promotion which, this time around, is targeted and offers Executive Club members the opportunity to buy Avios with bonus of up to 50%. If your account is in the US this allows you to buy Avios from 1.85 cents but, if you’re fortunate enough to be based in the EU, the price drop to just 1.2 Euro cents.

Good News: Oneworld “Not Looking To Add A Formal Additional Tier”

News that oneworld CEO Rob Gurney has suggested that the alliance, which includes the likes of American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and British Airways, is not looking to add a new tier to its elite status structure…and that’s very good news for most of us.

Some of the recent changes Qatar Airways has been making to the aircraft it employs on its US routes (albeit temporarily) are good news for US flyers. In this post I take a look at the changes and explain why they should be cheered.

The British Airways Visa Card – Why Would You Bother?

The British Airways Visa card may currently have an impressive-sounding sign-up bonus but I really don’t rate it as a credit card – it’s unrewarding and there are a lot of better options out there.
