British Airways has finally launched its offers for Black Friday 2022 and if you were waiting for (or hoping for) some good premium cabin airfare deals, prepare to be disappointed. If you’ve been waiting to book a package or holiday deal, there may be something for you in what follows.

Key to know

  • For all the deals, you need to book by midnight (UK time) on 29 November 2022
  • The valid travel dates and general conditions of sale vary by destination and by cabin class so there’s no one general rule that covers all the fares and holidays in the sale. Make sure you read the terms for your chosen destination(s) carefully (on the sale page) before you book.
  • Promotional travel must be booked, ticketed, started and finished in the UK.
  • British Airways Executive Club members can earn double Tier Points on holidays (flight + hotel or flight + car) of at least five nights for travel up to 30 September 2023.

The deals

The British Airways website may lead you to believe that there are some “deals” to be found for flight only bookings, but having had a look at what the Low Fare Finder tool is showing, I can’t see a single premium cabin fare that that I would consider to be a particularly good “deal”. In fact, most fares appear to be more expensive than they were a few weeks ago.

If you’re going to look for a genuine deal, you’re going to have to sift through BA’s holiday promotions.

Bottom line

The British Airways Black Friday sale is now live but from a premium “flight-only” point of view, it appears to be a big, dull, dud.

Various promotions are being offered for flight+hotel and flight+car bookings so it may be worthwhile sifting through those to see if anything jumps out (especially as the double Tier Point promotion is still alive) but, overall, it’s hard to get excited about this sale.

  1. Yup the sale is a dud. It annoys me when they play stupid marketing games like this, making a big deal about a sale when it really isn’t. To me it borders on dishonesty, but hey whoever said corporations have any morals?
