As of yet, Briggs and Riley hasn’t launched a big Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale, but despite that, it appears to be offering some very good discounts on a very limited number of items from its fantastic Baseline range that are worth checking out.

Confession… I’m a B&R fan boy

As I always say (when writing about Briggs & Riley), I have to confess that I’m a huge B&R fan (we have seven pieces of Briggs & Riley luggage in our household, which range from checked luggage to carry-on bags and backpacks), so be aware that I’m unabashedly biased towards Briggs & Riley.

I used to be a “Tumi guy”, but Tumi’s rapid fall from grace after being taken over by Samsonite pushed me towards B&R (Tumi’s service levels hit lows that I didn’t think existed) and I’ve never looked back.

Back in 2020, I had reason to test out the amazing lifetime guarantee that Briggs and Riley offers and I can confirm that it really is as good as it sounds. I loved the luggage before I had to use the guarantee and now there isn’t another luggage brand that I’d buy.

The sale

Right, now that I’ve confessed to being a B&R fanboy, here’s what the current (and very limited sale is offering).

There are just 9 pieces in the current Briggs & Riley sale (more may appear tomorrow and/or Monday) but the pieces that are on sale are (mostly) from what I consider to be the best range that B&R offers – the Baseline Collection.

a group of black bags

For some, the fact that the large bags have 2 wheels and are not 4-wheel spinners will be a deal breaker (I get why that may be) but these are still excellent bags with B&R’s fantastic compression system built-in.

That being said, the best carry-on bags that B&R sell are bags with just two wheels (4-wheel bags always take up far too much space IMO) and one of the very best is now on sale at $399.

a black backpack with a black strap

This is the 19″ version of the carry-on bag that I take everywhere with me (I have the 21″ Global 2-wheel carry-on) and should be perfect for most short/shortish journeys.

a black suitcase with a white cover

It measures 19″ x 14″ x 9″ and weights just 8.1 lbs and that makes it the right size to fit in most airline bag-sizers that you may come across (that includes low-cost carriers like Frontier, Spirit and even EasyJet).

Yes, no matter how you look at it, $399 is a lot to pay for any kind of bag, but when it comes with a true lifetime warranty and when the manufacturer is as easy to deal with as B&R, I think that’s a price worth paying (as all my household’s B&R bags prove!)

Bottom line

Briggs and Riley is currently running a very low-key sale in which only 9 items are discounted, but because within this sale are 5 of the best bags that B&R sells, this is definitely a sale that’s worth checking out if you need to replace any luggage.
