BA Flash Sale: 500,000 Seats For Under £40 Each Way (From UK Only)

British Airway has announced a short-haul flash sale in which it says that it’s offering half a million seats for under £40 (~$55) each way. This sale is running in parallel with the main sale that British Airways is currently promoting and will end at midnight (GMT) on Monday 13 September.

The Flash Sale – Key Terms

• Fares are open to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is a person aged 18 years or over and resident in the UK. BA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Eligible Participants. By taking part in this promotion, Eligible Participants confirm that they accept the terms and conditions set out below
• In total, from London, there is a minimum of 500,000 seats available under £40 each way based on a return ‘Hand Baggage Only’ fare.
• Prices are subject to change at any time.
• Prices include all pre-payable taxes, fees, charges and security and fuel surcharges in relation to flights, correct as at 1 September 2021, but may vary.
• Flights to all destinations must be booked between 10 September 2021 and 23:59 GMT 13 September 2021.
• All fares quoted are based on the lowest priced Euro Traveller Economy ‘Hand Baggage Only’ fares available from London to stated destinations and are non-refundable but changeable for a fee plus any difference in fare. Ticketing must be completed the day reservations are made.

Based on the full terms and conditions found on the sale page, it looks like the travel dates for these new sale fares vary by destination but generally speaking, the cheaper fares are to be found for travel between November 2021 and March 2022 (excluding the Christmas period) for most routes.

Quick Thoughts

I haven’t had much time to explore all the sale fares that BA has published but I’ve already spotted a few examples where the prices are actually slightly better than the example fares that the airline has sent through. I’ve seen roundtrip fares to Cyprus (Larnaca) for under £90, fares to Malta from £84, fares to Athens from £80, and fares to Rome from £74 and all of these are very good deals indeed…and there’s bound to be more like these out there.

It’s worth keeping in mind that these are all “hand baggage only” fares so if you’re hoping to travel with half of your wardrobe you’ll not be able to make the most of these deals, but for anyone looking for a short-ish break or who can pack super-light, these deals should be a nice way to get away without breaking the bank.

Bottom Line

British Airways is running a flash sale in which it’s selling 500,000 seats at under £40 until midnight on Monday. Most popular European destinations are included in this sale and most routes have sale fares available through the end of March so you shouldn’t have to be too flexible with your dates to get a good deal.
