In what I assume is a play to sign-up as many cardholders as possible before Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest are merged, Amex (UK) has boosted the annual maximum referral bonus from 25,000 to 90,000 Starpoints. This takes the bonus past the 55,000 Starpoints that US cardholders can currently earn every year.

Unfortunately, while residents of the US still enjoy sign-up bonuses of 25,000 – 35,000 the UK is currently only offering a bonus of 10,000 Starpoints:

However, if you’re referred by someone (and you’re approved for the card) then that bonus is raised to 11,000 Starpoints.

Before I fall foul of any financial regulations let me make something very clear – I’m not suggesting this is a credit card for you, I’m not suggesting that you should apply for this card….I’m just telling you what offer is out there…ok? Good đŸ™‚

If you have a Starwood SPG co-branded credit card you can refer friends and family via this Amex website.

For every person that successfully applies for the SPG Amex credit card through one of your referral links you’ll earn 5,000 Starpoints and they’ll earn a bonus 1,000 Starpoints when they hit their sign-up bonus target (currently £1,000 in the first 3 months of card membership).

If you’d like a referral link from me (which would be kind!) feel free to get in touch via this contact form.
