Amex has launched a new targeted offer for spending at select Accor properties and the headline news here is that this offer covers brands that sit in the middle and the higher ends of Accor’s portfolio (Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, etc…) and it isn’t limited to properties in the United States or even the Americas. Properties all over the world will trigger this offer.
Spend $500 & get $100 at select Accor properties around the world

Thoughts
There are six key things to note here:
Firstly, based on the wording in the terms and conditions, it looks like the $500 spending target does not need to be met in one transaction. Multiple transactions that add up to $500 or more will end up triggering the statement credit (although I suspect that most people triggering this offer will do it in one stay).
Secondly, 266 properties appear to be participating in this promotion and that seems tiny when you consider that Accor’s global portfolio covers well over 5,500 properties. The reason for this, however, is that the offer appears to be limited to a selection of properties in a handful of Accor’s middle-tier and upper-tier brands. Specifically:
- Fairmont
- Sofitel
- Sofitel Legend
- MGallery
- Raffles
- SLS
- Emblems
I’m not sure if all the properties in these brands are participating, so make sure you check that your chosen property is on the official list of participating properties before you make a booking
Thirdly, this is what the regional breakdown looks like:
- Africa – 3 properties (all are in Egypt)
- Americas – 68 properties (31 of which are in the United States)
- Asia – 41 Properties
- Europe – 109 properties (46 of which are in France!)
- Middle East – 27 properties
- Pacific – 18 properties (12 of which are in Australia)
It’s great to see another Amex offer that isn’t just limited to the Americas (or even just North America).
Fourthly, This promotion is targeted, but as I could choose to add it to any of my Membership Rewards cards (including Business cards), it doesn’t look like the targeting is particularly narrow.
Fifthly, Don’t forget that you only have to spend $500 to trigger this offer so if you also hold a credit card that will give you a better return on hotel spending than the Amex card to which you can add this offer and you’re spending more than $500, you should be able to ask the front desk to charge $500 to your targeted Amex card and the rest to whatever other card you have that will serve you better.
Finally, Another thing not to forget is that this offer will not work on prepaid stays (it will only trigger on spending made at the hotel) so you can’t book a stay for next year (or any time after 2 November 2026 for that matter) and also trigger this credit.
Overall (and as is usual with these kind of deals), the best Amex card to use with this offer will probably be the American Express® Green Card which, for the time being, returns 3 points/dollar on travel spending (terms apply), but as that’s a card that I do not hold, I’m going to have to make do with adding it to my Platinum Card® from American Express which will earn me just 1 point/dollar (terms apply).
Ordinarily and in the absence a card that will earn me a category spending bonus, I would use the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express for an offer like this (it earns me 2 points/dollar on the first $50,000 of spending every year and 1 point/dollar thereafter – terms apply), but as this card charges foreign transaction fees and, if I trigger this offer, I’m most likely to trigger it at a participating property outside of the United States, I’m going to have to settle for using the Platinum Card.
Note: All information about the American Express® Green Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The American Express® Green Card is not currently available through Traveling For Miles.
Bottom line
American Express is currently targeting select cardholders for a $100 saving when they spend $500 or more (in one or more transactions) at select middle- and upper-tier Accor properties all around the world.
Based on how many of my Amex cards are showing this offer this doesn’t appear to be a narrowly targeted deal, so if you have an upcoming stay at a participating property (or if you’re planning a stay in a location that has one or more participating Accor properties), make sure you check your Amex offers to see if you could save on your stay.
