American Express has boosted the welcome offer on a number of its Delta co-branded credit cards but that’s not the news that will be catching the attention of AvGeeks today. The news that aviation enthusiasts will probably be more interested in hearing is that for a very limited time, Amex will be issuing two Delta co-branded credit cards which will boast a unique Boeing 747 design and which will be made, in part, from a 747 that once flew in Delta’s livery.
Here’s what you need to know:
Between 16 June and 3 August 2022, holders of the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card will be able to request a limited-edition design of their card which was created with 25% metal from Delta Ship #6307, a retired Boeing 747-400.
Per American Express, the card comes with “exclusive content via an augmented reality experience” created especially for Card Members, which includes Boeing 747 history, interviews with Delta pilots and crew members, and an up-close look at Delta Ship #6307’s transformation from a passenger plane into the card design.
The card is available to existing cardholders as well as to anyone who successfully applies for a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card while stocks of the limited-edition card last.
Amex hasn’t said how many cards it has had made but considering how big 747s are and how (relatively) small credit cards are, I’d be surprised if stocks were to run out before the 3 August end date.
Through 3 August 2022, the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card is offering a welcome bonus of 100,000 miles (in return for $5,000 of spending in the first 3 months of card membership), and the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card is offering a welcome bonus of 110,000 miles (in return for $6,000 of spending in the first 3 months of card membership).
My links have yet to be updated with the new bonuses but if you head over to American Express, you should find that these bonuses are already on offer.
This is for fans of the miles and points game who also happened to be AvGeeks, this has to be as close to heaven as it gets 😁. Through 3 August the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card can be had in a very special limited-edition design that celebrates the amazing Boeing 747. if you were on the fence about getting one of these cards before, this may well tip you over the edge!
