Iberia is currently offering some excellent Business Class fares for travel between Madrid and various cities in the United States for travel into 2022, but while those deals may be impressive, a new offer recently announced by Iberia just made those deals nothing short of amazing.
The Fares
Some of the best non-stop Iberia Business Class fares for travel to the United States look like this:
- Madrid – Chicago from $1,527
- Madrid – Los Angeles from $1,559
- Madrid – Miami from $1,501
- Madrid – New York from $1,501
- Madrid – San Francisco from $1,501 (only to the end of October)
These fares are for travel into January and February 2022 (they can be used to book Christmas and New Year trips) but some fares are more readily available than others.
On their own, those are great deals for non-stop travel between Europe and the United States (especially to the West Coast), but here’s how you can make them a lot cheaper:
Use Iberia’s Gift Card Sale For Amazing Deals
Right now, Iberia is running a promotion in which it’s selling gift cards with a 25% discount, and there doesn’t appear to be a cap on the value of the gift cards that you can purchase. What this means is that if, for example, you’d like to book the great Madrid – San Francisco Business Class fare that’s currently pricing up at $1,501…
…you can buy a gift card (here) with a value of $1,501 for just $1,125.75…
…and then use that gift card to book a truly fantastic deal.
Note: Gift cards can be purchased in USD, Euro, or GBP so you should be covered whichever Iberia website you use and whichever currency your fares are quoted.
With a 25% discount, this is what the fares mentioned at the top of this post will now cost:
- Madrid – Chicago from $1,145
- Madrid – Los Angeles from $1,169
- Madrid – Miami from $1,126
- Madrid – New York from $1,126
- Madrid – San Francisco from $1,126
All the fares shown in this post are available on Iberia.com and are for travel on flights operated by Iberia so they’re itineraries that should be bookable with the gift cards in this sale.
Be Careful
There are a few things that you’ll need to know before you dive in to buy gift cards as they’re key to making the most of this sale and not being left out of pocket.
- The gift card sale only runs through 19 March 2021.
- The gift cards are only valid for one year from the date of purchase.
- The gift cards can only be used to purchase flights operated by Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Nostrum.
That last point is especially important because it means that you cannot book some of the American Airlines codeshares that appear in the search results at a similar price level, and you cannot book flights with a connection in the US as the connecting flight will not be operated by Iberia.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that you can use Iberia gift cards to book flights to the US that are not operated by Iberia (i.e all flights have to be taken on an Iberia aircraft).
Bottom Line
Iberia is currently offering some excellent Business Class fares for non-stop travel between Madrid and various cities in the US. Thanks to a gift card sale that’s running to 19 March, these fares can now be booked with an added discount of 25% meaning that these great deals now start as low as just $1,126 for non-stop roundtrip travel. That’s a Europe – USA Business Class deal that’s unlikely to be beaten any time soon.
There don’t appear to be any Iberia only flights from Los Angeles or San Francisco on Iberia nonstop for under $3000. Loads of codeshares with American and British Air.
This particular blog post is about travel from Madrid to the US and not the other way around.

Do you know if these gift card purchases post as travel for credit card purposes or some 3rd party service provider?
I don’t know for sure. I’d guess that they would be processed by Iberia but I have no evidence to support that.
