American Airlines has been sending out emails to AAdvantage Aviator credit card holders offering them up to 20 miles per dollar on spending at the AAdvantage eShopping store. Before you get overly excited you should know that the greatly enhanced earning rates are only available at a few select stores….but this could still be an economical way of racking up some AAdvantage miles while doing your Holiday shopping.

This offer appears to have been running for a few days so I’m not sure why I’ve only just received the email but, that aside, the offer looks interesting.

The AAdvantage Aviator Offer

Per the email:

For a limited time, AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard®cardmembers can earn up to 20 AAdvantage® bonus miles for every $1 spent when you shop through AAdvantage eShoppingSM and use your Aviator® Mastercard® at one of these featured stores:

  • Saks Fifth Avenue: earn 12 miles/$1
  • eBags: earn 20 miles/$1
  • Staples: earn 6 miles/$1

Ok, so the offer is quite limited as you can only use it at 3 stores….but at least for once you don’t have to buy Magazines to get a stack of AAdvantage Miles through the AAdvantage eShopping store.

Here’s a link to the eShopping page displaying the promotion

Also it’s worth noting that the AAdvantage Store has a separate offer running right now which should stack well with this one:

The Terms and Conditions of the Aviator offer are as follows:

Increased Miles Earning: Bonus miles are available from the participating merchants for qualifying purchases made from November 27, 2017 at 12:01 am ET through 11:59 pm ET on December 3, 2017.

Returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card purchases, and certain products are not eligible. Please see the AAdvantage eShoppingSM site for merchant details on product eligibility and/or any coupon code details or other usage restrictions.

Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage eShoppingSM account.

There is no mention that you actually have to use your AAdvantage Aviator card when purchasing through the portal so there’s a chance that you shoppers can use an American Express card and stack yet more deal with this…like these ones for example:

Having said that I’d be tempted to err on the side of caution and use an Aviator card just in case – other brand of card may well work but, if you’re doing a lot of shopping, why risk a large number of AAdvantage miles for a relatively small gain from the Amex offers.

Make The Most Of The Deals

Don’t forget that stores like eBags are still offering some pretty decent Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals…..

….so, if you think you may need some luggage in the near future, this could be a good time to get a discount on shopping you’re going to have to do anyway and get a whole lot of points at the same time.

eBags is currently running its semi-annual sale on TUMI luggage and, although as a rule I’m avoiding TUMI products right now, their Alpha range is still one that I like a lot (the rest, not so much).

If you’re looking for a bulletproof warranty then eBags is running a promotion on Briggs & Riley luggage which stacks on top of the existing savings that are being offered.

You could buy a great rollaboard for under $400, get a real lifetime guarantee and take home nearly 9,500 AAdvantage Miles at the same time.

Bottom Line

The Aviator deal only runs through Sunday 3 December and who knows when the better offers at stores like eBags will disappear so don’t procrastinate if you think this will work for you.
