If you hold a credit or charge card issued by American Express then you also have access to one of my favorite benefits – Amex Offers. Amex Offers are a great way of boosting your Membership Rewards balance or saving cold hard cash with selected retailers and I like them as a way of offsetting any annual fees I have to pay.

To see what Amex Offers you have been targeted for simply scroll down your Amex account homepage and you should see the “Amex Offers & Benefits” header:

Across my various Amex cards I’m currently seeing 14 Amex Offers that relate to travel (or travel goods) and most are valid through December 2017 and some can still be used into 2018.

Hotel Offers

Most of the Amex Offers I can see right now are for hotel stays and some of the savings are very good indeed.

There’s an offer for up to 20% of stays at Starwood properties….

Hilton have at least two offers out there right now (one for Hampton and one for DoubleTree) and both offer up to 20% off:

There’s a nice double offer available right now on stays at MGM resorts and these should stack very nicely – spending $500 will see you get $50 cash back and you’ll earn 7,500 Membership Rewards points which I value at around $112 (1.5 cents per point). Essentially you’ll be getting a rebate of over 30%.

I value 10,000 Membership Rewards points at $150 so the James in New York is currently offering an effective rebate of up to 30%….

……and the Thompson group of hotels are offering cash back of up to 20%.a black text on a white background

You may have been targeted for up to 20% off Joie de Vivre Hotels….

Car Rental/Car Services

National is targeting Amex cardholders with an offer of up to 13% off….but check what type of car rental coverage your Amex card offers as it may be worth forgoing the 13% discount in order to use a credit card with better insurance benefits (like one of the Chase Sapphire cards for example).

There’s also a targeted offer for up to 33% off a limo service which could make what is often an expensive option a little more reasonable.

Don’t Forget

If you use multiple screens/multiple browsers you can load the same Amex Offer on to a number of different credit/charge cards so you can use the offers more than once – for travelers looking to make multiple hotels bookings in the next few months that could stack up to a lot of savings.

Also, these are just the Amex Offers I’ve been targeted for – others may see different offers in their accounts and there may be better ones out there that I’m not privy to. Check your accounts to see what you’ve been targeted for and load the on to your cards before they disappear.
